Tapered roller bearing

Tapered roller bearings belong to separate type bearings. Both inner and outer rings of bearings have tapered raceways. The bearing can be divided into single row, double row and four row tapered roller bearings according to the number of rollers installed. Single row tapered roller bearings can withstand radial load and unilateral axial load. When bearings are subjected to radial loads, there will be an axial component, so another bearing that can withstand the reverse axial force is needed to balance it.
The ability of single row tapered roller bearings to bear axial load depends on the contact angle, that is, the outer raceway angle. The larger the angle, the greater the axial load capacity. Single row tapered roller bearings are the most widely used tapered roller bearings. Small-sized double-row tapered roller bearings are used in the front wheel hub of a car. Four row tapered roller bearings are used in heavy machines such as large cold and hot rolling mills.
